Wow.

I can’t find a word to describe how well our first three days open have been, that’s honestly the best we can come up with.
A quick recap -

We opened Friday morning at 7AM sharp, and immediately had friendly, eager customers to serve. I can’t even count how many times that day we were told they had been watching us update the space, and had been counting down the days until we opened. The support from local residents has been so overwhelmingly amazing. We couldn’t have possibly asked for a better neighborhood.

We ran out of homemade baked goods part way through the afternoon, baked more, and they were gone by the time we closed.

Cookies & cake slices. Mmmmmmm. All vegan to boot!

Fresh baked muffins! Vanilla pumpkin seed and blueberry buttermilk.

Early in the morning we got a treat of our own – Amanda from BlogTO came in, snapped some photos and asked some questions while enjoying some pressed coffee and an almond-butter cookie. The result is this amazing review. We won’t lie, we have pretty big girl crushes on her.

Saturday we expected ho-hum weather, and less of a turnout because of it. People braved the chilly overcast weather, and the sometimes sleet, sometimes rain to come out and give us a try. So many in fact that by the afternoon we ran out of the milk we expected would carry us until Tuesday morning. Richard ran out and raided local grocery stores, for all the 2% Harmony organic milk he could get his hands on. Have to admit, we didn’t see that coming.
Went through even more baked goods (3 dozen muffins in 4 hours? We’re so glad they are such a hit!)

Sunday we decided we’d get here even earlier to get more baking done. By this point we had not only Richard and Sadies partner James in helping, my fantastic Mom was in baking all day. Went through all our milk, raided more grocery stores, and baked like fiends.
3 dozen muffins, a pumpkin / orange cake, a tray of double chocolate espresso biscotti, a dozen chocolate crisp cookies, a dozen ginger molasses cookies, two dozen chocolate mini-cupcakes, quite a few charity meringues and another dozen everything cookies.
Holey moley.

Needless to say it was an AMAZING start, we love each and every one of you, especially those who stayed to chat and mentioned following this blog, Facebook and Twitter. We apologize for not being able to chat longer when we started to get too busy to do anything but make drinks and bake! Looks like today is going to be a bit slower (so far) – so if you’re in the area come on in!
We have a few of the pumpkin seed vanilla and blueberry buttermilk muffins left from this mornings bake. Lots of cookies, with biscotti coming out of the oven in about an hour. If we get the time to make them, we’ll also have the cheesecake brownies that have been flying out the door. DELISH!
